Cut: what gives a diamond its sparkle

Cut describes how well a diamond’s facets are shaped and finished to reflect light. The better the cut, the more refractions and overall sparkle the diamond will have. A well-cut diamond can look bright and lively, making cut an important part of its overall beauty. 

Colour: choosing a tone

The diamond colour scale runs from D, which is colourless, through to Z, which shows more noticeable colour. Our Ring Builder currently offers diamonds graded D to G. We can source other colours and grades on request, just contact us with your requirements. 

Colour differences can be subtle, so comparing two diamonds side by side can help. We can match the shoulder diamonds to the centre stone for a harmonious look, or use contrast when it suits the design.

Clarity: natural character

Clarity describes the natural inclusions within a diamond and blemishes on its surface. At the highest grades, these features aren’t visible under 10× magnification; lower grades may have more noticeable characteristics. Salt-and-pepper diamonds celebrate visible inclusions, giving each stone its own distinctive look.
